The test, developed by Swiss firm Roche, checks for anti-bodies that your body has previously created to fight off the virus. Public Health England has called it a 'very positive step'.

Until now officials have claimed such tests are not reliable enough - however this did not stop HM government form spending £16m on these useless tests in earlier months.

The good news is that these new tests (no, not the ones our government bought) are up to 99.8% accurate. But PHE have also said they cannot tell us these tests will begin. At this point in time the government is still failing to achieve its 100,000 tests a day quota, and yesterday (13th of May) we experienced another 494 deaths, but simultaneously the government introduced relaxations to the UK lockdown. When will this government start to produce the results they promise?
